On Saturday, January 21, at 8 pm, in the Hop’s Warner Bentley Theater, student writers, directors and actors will come together to perform brand new plays. How new? They haven’t been written yet.
Welcome to WIRED!, a 24-hour theatrical experience where writers stay up all night writing their plays in response to a prompt, and actors perform their work the very next day. For more information on how this show comes together, see “Wired! The shows that snacks built,” where I detail the work that goes into the event.
WIRED! is produced by the Displaced Theater Company, a completely student-run theater group with a mission to bring together students with busy schedules and create theater with a minimal time commitment. We believe that everyone should have a chance to be a part of creating theater, and because of projects like WIRED!, we believe everyone can.
We invite you to join us in experiencing the brand new works! The performances start at 8 pm, and generally the event ends by 9:30 pm.
Thanks to the Theater Department, which helps fund the project and provides us with the performance space, WIRED! is FREE and open to the public. We hope to have you with us!
