OK, members of the Dartmouth Class of 2022, want to know how can you can experience, create and support the arts at Dartmouth? Come to Exploring the Arts, Friday, September 7, noon to 1:30 pm, at Dartmouth’s Hopkins Center for the Arts.
First, food. We give you a free lunch, and you should eat it, because you’re going to need your strength.
Now for the exploration. At Exploring the Arts, you visit tables throughout the Hop to talk with people about the following:
Hop visiting artists. Students pay only $10 to see world-class performers like Lea DeLaria, Youssou Ndour, Mitsuko Uchida and the Stratford Festival.
Hop Ensembles. Professionally directed and produced ensembles and theater productions offer you the chance to sing, play instruments, dance and act in a range of styles, with great repertoire and visiting mentors.
Work. Earn money or gain pre-professional experience as a Hop employee, Fellow or volunteer in local schools through the Students Teaching in the Arts program.
Meet up with other arts lovers in the Arts Ambassadors program and Dartmouth Film Society.
Study. Talk with representatives of the departments of Music, Theater and Film & Media Studies to learn about courses and opportunities in the academic study of the arts.
Explore the visual arts. Talk with representatives of the Hood Museum of Art and the Department of Studio Art about the great learning and creative experiences they offer.
